How the Driver Knowledge Test is marked

The test is marked in four sections, and each one has its own minimum. There is no separate overall mark — reaching every section’s minimum is the pass. The mock test in the app uses the same structure, so nothing on the day is a surprise.

  • Compulsory

    Needs 7 of 7

    Every question
  • Traffic Rules

    Needs 4 of 5

  • Road Rules

    Needs 15 of 18

  • Road Safety

    Needs 4 of 5

Some sections here leave no margin. Where a section says every question, one wrong answer ends the test. That is how the test is marked, not something we have added. Better to know now than on the day — the mock in the app marks those sections the same way, so you will have met them before you walk in.
