Common questions

• Which states and territories are covered?

  All eight. Each one has its own question bank, its own test format and its own pass mark, and the app follows the rules for the state you pick:

  New South Wales · Victoria · Queensland · Western Australia · South Australia · Tasmania · Australian Capital Territory · Northern Territory

• What does it cost?

  You can practise 24 questions for your state free — no account, no card. Full access is $24.99 AUD, paid once, and covers all eight states and territories for good.

  No subscription. Nothing renews. No ads, and no tracking.

• Is it a subscription?

  No. It is a single payment. There is nothing to cancel.

• I already paid. How do I get it on another device?

  Sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used the first time, then use Restore purchase on the unlock screen. You will not be charged again.

• Can I change which state I am practising for?

  Yes, any time, in Settings. One purchase covers every state and territory, so moving interstate costs nothing extra.

• Does it work without a connection?

  Yes, once the question bank has downloaded. After that you can practise on the bus, in the car, or anywhere with no signal.

• Is this an official government app?

  No. L-Plate Academy is an independent study aid — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any Australian state or territory road authority. For the official rules, and to book your test, go to your own road authority. Each state page on this site links to the right one, and so does every guide in the app.

• Where do the questions come from?

  Questions from Driver Knowledge Test Questions (Class C), © State of New South Wales (Transport for NSW), and from the Road Ready Licence Knowledge Trainer, © Australian Capital Territory — both licensed under CC BY 4.0. Explanations are our own.

• When is the Android version out?

  The Android build is on an internal testing track and is not published yet, so we have no date to give you. The iOS app is available on the App Store now.

• How do I delete my account?

  In the app: Settings → Delete Account. If you have already uninstalled it, email us. Full instructions and a list of what is deleted are on the delete your account page.

• Something is wrong with a question or an explanation.

  Please tell us — email support@lplate-academy.com with the question and what looks wrong, and we will check it against the authority’s published rules.
